MotoArt added a few new names to our Corsair propeller sculpture at the Museum of Flying fund raiser at Santa Monica airport last week. One of our newly treasured signatures really hit home, as Louis Zamperini was more than happy to add his name. MotoArt’s home base airport in Torrance was renamed Zamperini Airfield in his honor. Lucky Louie has a incredible story from his 1936 Berlin Olympic efforts and being a World War II POW and spending a harrowing 47 days at sea. We are also thrilled to have this piece signed by four of the surviving Tuskegee airman.
