News Letter July 2009

Double size your reception area with the high flying GE-747 Cowling Desk by MotoArt. This stunning piece was custom built for the new GE Advanced Research & Technology Center in Qatar. The GE-747 Cowling Desk uses the nacelle off the CF6-50 engine that was first used for KLM’s 747 aircraft in 1975, with GE’s high-bypass turbofan engines. MotoArt split the engine cowling into equal halves, doubling them up into an impressive 19’ long reception desk. Constructed with bamboo desktops, polished aluminum caps and a incredibly high-sheen mirror polished engine cowling as the exterior.

Now Even Greener

If using a recycled airframe from decommissioned aircraft wasn’t enough, MotoArt is now incorporating Bamboo hardwood into our pieces for desktops. After all, bamboo has been one of the most buzz-worthy building products in recent years, thanks to its versatility and rapid renewability. Bamboo, literally a fast-growing grass, can be harvested in as little as three years, making it the darling of green building professionals, architects, and builders.
